The Reform Party of Syria has the following reports:
- The Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Syassah reports that 2,000 Hezbollah members have supplemented the regime’s security in Damascus. This confirms an earlier RPS report.
- Secular activist Suhair Atassi and her fellow protestors holding a candlelight vigil supporting the Egyptian demonstrators were attacked by a mob and the police stood by. She went to file a report at the police station and was detained and accused of being an Israeli agent.
- Protestors met at the Rawada Café to march in front of Parliament but they were prevented from leaving the building for several hours by security.
- The Internet has been shut down or dramatically slowed down. Thousands of mobile phones are not getting service.
- Social networking sites report protests in Hassekeh. Hordes of security personnel including some dressed as civilians are being seen in Damascus, Qamoshli and Hassakeh, including the presence of tanks on street corners.
- An unknown number of protestors in Homs were arrested as they headed towards Jamal Abdel Nasser Square.
- Twenty protestors have been arrested in Qamoshli but anti-regime chants continue.
